A Thoughtful Pantry, Rooted in Experience

Clean Living by Judith Raye began long before the first label was printed.
In the early 1980s, I owned a small pizza parlor in Texas. It was there that I first learned how powerful simple ingredients can be. Flour, tomatoes, herbs, and cheese — when handled with care — could become something memorable. I learned how seasoning builds depth, how balance matters, and how food brings people together around a table.
That foundation shaped me.

Over the next twenty years living in Houston, Texas, I was immersed in bold, layered flavors — warm chilies, slow-simmered broths, vibrant spices, and the unmistakable influence of Tex-Mex cooking. My pantry expanded. My understanding of flavor deepened.
But over time, cooking became more than bold flavor. It became intentional.

Hospitality, Community, and Idaho
When I married a native Idahoan and made Idaho home, my cooking shifted again.

Instead of restaurant kitchens and city flavors, I found myself preparing meals for large family gatherings — welcoming friends from church, setting long tables, and cooking for a house full of people.

Those seasons of hospitality changed how I approached food.
I began focusing on balance, simplicity, and ingredients that supported generous, nourishing meals. Fewer ingredients — but better ones. Clean labels. Thoughtful seasoning. Flavor that brings people back to the table.
Clean Living by Judith Raye grew from that season of feeding people well.
